'Control Room of the Rio'

Truk Lagoon is certainly a shipwreck paradise, and a true playground for panoramic photography. In the control room of the Rio De Janeiro wreck, I photographed this flooded maze filled with machinery and gauges. The atmosphere of the image is accentuated by the orange and green tones from the rusty metal.
Judge's comment: A modest backstory from last year's winner of this category, making light of the planning and the technical exercise operating in a tight, silt strewn compartment at who knows what depth. Photographically mirrored and a very effectively lit, well chosen powerful subject.
