The Coleman shrimp is everyone's favourite shrimp. When I shot this photo I wanted a portrait photo of one close up. It took me a few tries since with a compact camera it was slightly harder. I wanted the subject to stand out so I used a special type of cokin filter. Since it can be screwed on easily to the housing it gave a bolder and different type of affect. In order to get the blurred sides I had to make sure my aperture was really low and the light bright enough so it can focus on the eye.
Judge's comment: The author has worked hard to create this image and used a cokin filter to bokeh the portrait everywhere else than the two eyes.
